Why We Started APEX
APEX Readiness Academy was founded by emergency response professionals who saw the same problem again and again: when a crisis hit, the people nearby didn't know what to do. Not because they didn't care — but because no one had ever taught them.
We built APEX to change that. Our mission is to equip individuals, businesses, schools, and communities across New Mexico with the practical, hands-on skills that make the difference between life and death in the critical minutes before emergency services arrive.
Every course we teach is HSI-certified, every instructor brings real-world experience, and every class is designed to be memorable, practical, and immediately applicable — whether you're a front-desk receptionist, a school administrator, or a warehouse supervisor.

Lawrence brings over 20 years of experience as an EMT and Paramedic serving New Mexico communities. A retired U.S. Army veteran, he combines military discipline with deep pre-hospital care expertise to deliver training that is practical, confident, and life-ready.
Antonio Martinez
Instructor — AVIRT Active Shooter & Security Response
Antonio is a retired U.S. Coast Guard veteran with over 15 years of experience in military base security operations. He brings a disciplined, threat-aware perspective to active shooter response and workplace safety training — equipping students with the mindset and skills to act decisively under pressure.
